Classical Languages is a BA programme at the University of Massachusetts Boston. It introduces students to the central concepts and current questions that shape classical languages, supported by the university's broad academic community.
The curriculum combines subject knowledge with creative practice, helping students develop their ideas, confidence and ability to communicate in an academic and professional setting. Learning combines academic study with opportunities to investigate topics in greater depth, collaborate with others and apply knowledge in practical contexts.

Official high school record, leaving certificate and/or graduation examination results, or notarized copies. Documents in another language must be translated into English by a certified translator, and official records must be sent directly by the institution.
A required personal essay of approximately 500 words responding to one of the university's essay questions.
One academic recommendation letter from a school-based counselor and/or teacher is required.
SAT or ACT scores are optional. Non-native English speakers must provide proof of English proficiency. Accepted evidence includes TOEFL, IELTS, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, ACT English and Reading, or Duolingo English Test scores, subject to the university's published minimums and exemptions.
Applicants who have been out of high school for more than three years may need to submit a current resume.
For 2026–27, full-time out-of-state undergraduate tuition and fees are approximately $39,586 per year. Additional costs may include the international student fee, health insurance, accommodation, food, books and personal expenses.
