Learn more about studying Business: Undeclared Major as an international student.

What Adelphi University says about their program:
Why Choose an Undeclared Major in Business? Are There Advantages? Yes. Many students know that they are interested in business, but they are unsure about which major to choose. This is more common than you might think. There is no need to choose a major right away. You can use your early college years to explore different majors, and find out which area of business fits your interest, your aptitude and your career goals.
During your first and second years at Adelphi, you will have the opportunity to take courses in each of our major areas: accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing. It’s an excellent chance to explore the wide range of career options within the field of business.
You’ll be career-ready by the time you graduate, thanks to our unique Willumstad Winning Edge You’ll create your résumé, practice your interviewing skills, and get tech credentials like Microsoft Excel certification; you’ll get valuable experience through internships and job shadowing in the New York area; and you’ll make career connections through our many networking opportunities. You’ll also have your own Edge adviser—in addition to your academic adviser—who will help you create a personalized program geared to your career goals.

The #YouAreWelcomeHere Award is a scholarship created specifically for incoming international undergraduates. Each fall, Adelphi offers the award to first-time, first-year accepted students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, explicitly targeting the international undergraduate population. Eligible candidates are identified from the admitted pool and contacted directly by Adelphi with instructions to complete the award application; no separate proactive application is needed to be considered. Because eligibility is restricted to non-U.S.-citizen/non-permanent-resident first-time undergraduates, this award is inherently for international undergraduate students.
Adelphi automatically reviews every undergraduate applicant for a scholarship recommendation once a complete application is submitted, with no separate scholarship application required. Adelphi's own international student aid page states explicitly that "undergraduate international students are eligible for merit, talent and athletic scholarships." Depending on the award category, this can include the High School Achievement, Deans and Presidential Awards (roughly $15,000-$40,000 per year based on academic performance and standardized testing), Talent Combination Awards for exceptional ability in theatre, dance, art, music or communications (roughly $18,500-$43,500 per year, audition/portfolio required), and Athletic Grants of up to full tuition, fees, room and board for students with exceptional athletic ability. Because international undergraduates are explicitly named as eligible for these merit, talent and athletic scholarship categories, they qualify on the same competitive basis as domestic applicants.
