The Archaeology programme (Baccalauréat en archéologie) is an undergraduate degree offered at Université Laval. It provides both theoretical and practical training in excavation techniques and in the analysis and interpretation of artefacts, material culture and environmental data.

The programme is multidisciplinary, drawing on earth sciences, biological sciences, exact sciences and the humanities and social sciences. Students explore several cultural areas and develop the skills needed to collaborate with specialists from other fields of study.

Undergraduate academic requirements

  • International applicants must hold a diploma attesting to 13 years of education equivalent to the Québec Diploma of College Studies (DCS), such as a French baccalaureate or a General Certificate of Education with three A Levels.
  • Applicants whose diploma represents only 12 years of education must complete an additional qualifying year of coursework before starting the undergraduate program.
