Minimum GPA requirements vary by start term and admission route:

  • For spring 2027: a GPA of 3.00–4.00 qualifies for automatic admission to the University of Idaho without test scores. Applicants with a GPA of 2.60–2.99 must submit an ACT composite score of 15 or higher, or an SAT evidence-based reading and writing plus math score of 740 or higher. Applicants in this GPA band may instead opt in to the Vandal Gateway Program without test scores. Applicants with a GPA of 2.30–2.59 are admitted through the Vandal Gateway Program.
  • For summer 2027 and later: a GPA of 2.60 or higher qualifies for automatic admission. Applicants with a GPA of 2.30–2.59 are admitted through the Vandal Gateway Program, while applicants below 2.30 may appeal through the Admissions Committee.
  • Idaho residents with Level 3 or higher on both the ISAT Math and Literacy tests may be eligible for admission regardless of GPA.
