The Homeland Security certificate program provides foundational knowledge of local, national, and inter-national security. The program examines threats against national security, examines national and international terrorist threats, and explores the roles and responsibilities of local and national security agencies when preparing for emergencies. The program is designed to prepare students for employment in entry-level and advanced positions in the public and private sectors of security.

    A $500 award offered through the Peralta Colleges Foundation scholarship program, open to F-1 international students enrolled at any of the Peralta Community Colleges, including Merritt College. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, have completed at least 12 units at a Peralta college, have at least one remaining semester of study, and be in good academic standing. Applicants must submit a completed Student Education Plan (SEP) and a letter of recommendation from Peralta faculty.
