The Corrections degree and certificate program provides preparatory instruction necessary for persons who wish entry into four-year institutions for careers as Correctional Officers, Counselors or Probation and Parole Officers with federal, state, and county agencies. Entry-level employment may be available after satisfactory completion of the AA degree or certificate requirements.

    A $500 award offered through the Peralta Colleges Foundation scholarship program, open to F-1 international students enrolled at any of the Peralta Community Colleges, including Merritt College. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, have completed at least 12 units at a Peralta college, have at least one remaining semester of study, and be in good academic standing. Applicants must submit a completed Student Education Plan (SEP) and a letter of recommendation from Peralta faculty.
