Undergraduate Scholarships:

International Education Scholarship

  • Amount

    This scholarship will provide the student between $9,300 and $14,000 annually (two semesters).

  • Requirements

    Scholarship for new undergraduate students who have elevated academic achievement and will be enrolled full-time in academic courses (minimum of 12 hours per semester). This scholarship is for one year only (two semesters) and will waive up to out-of-state tuition requirements. Students must meet all admission requirements and meet English proficiency requirements.

International Honors Scholarship

  • Amount

    This scholarship will provide the student between $9,300 and $14,000 annually (two semesters).

  • Requirements

    Recognizes undergraduate students who have performed well in their first two semesters at Troy University by maintaining at least a 3.0 Cumulative Institutional GPA. The scholarship will waive up to out-of-state tuition as long as a Cumulative Institutional GPA of at least 3.0 is maintained continually until graduation.

International Trojan Opportunity

  • Amount

    This scholarship will provide the student between $9,300 and $14,000 annually (two semesters).

  • Requirements

    The International Trojan Opportunity scholarship enables students who begin their undergraduate academic work with Troy University at an overseas TROY location to be eligible for an International Trojan Opportunity scholarship if they transition to an Alabama campus as unconditionally admitted students. This scholarship will waive out-of-state tuition requirements.

Graduate Scholarships:

Graduate Scholarships

  • Amount

    This scholarship will provide the student between $8,500 and $9,000 annually (two semesters).

  • Requirements

    This scholarship is designed to encourage students from outside of Alabama to pursue graduate work at Troy’s Alabama campuses. Recipients must be “unconditionally” admitted to the graduate school including English proficiency requirements. The scholarship will waive out-of-state tuition. Students must maintain a 3.10 cumulative grade point average at the time of scholarship renewal to continue to receive the scholarship and must enroll in a minimum of nine hours per semester or six hours per term.

Graduate Assistantship

  • Amount

    Each student receives payments from their specific academic department, plus a tuition waiver of $2,500 per semester.

  • Requirements

    These assistantships enable eligible graduate students to receive financial support in exchange for working twenty hours per week in an academic department. These Assistantships are extremely competitive and are awarded by departments throughout the University.

Troy University was started in 1887 so it is a relatively old University it is a small town University so things to do are limited but accommodation wise you are offered a dorm room as long as you put in the housing application in time I was a scholarship student I am given preferred housing which means before other people apply for housing I do get to apply for housing first and I can move off campus if I want to even in the middle of the year as long as you submit everything on time you do get all of your deposits back. housing around the university is very close and affordable from my knowledge of it some if it does come furnished our international department does a great job about at least providing betting in case you can't get it from your country or just from a store before you reach. we use a transit system of buses that isn't very reliable but does get people from place to place Troy University used to offer a cycles that you could use but they have been out of order ever since covid we would love to have them back they should come back in the near future.train versus very good with communication it's just the amount of effort you put in into your study abroad that makes it better as an international student from India I got the opportunity to be a part of the student government as an international center I am currently an associate justice for the supreme court at Troy University I have been a part of an academic fraternity I have gotten a chance to join odk which is an Honor society you get to do just as much as you want to it's just the amount of effort you are putting in into your social activities as a student I really like being a part of the student government and helping internationals get more support on campus more help on campus just because we are put in such a different position as compared to the rest of the student body and our student body is very accepting.

Facilities are in really good conditions, and everything is very accessible. Transport is not too good and there is not much variety. The Latin American community is almost none.

The university itself is great! Lots of amazing facilities, an amazing gym, access to a pretty good library, shuttles for international students, and amazing classrooms. The housing could be better, especially the state of the building dedicated to the international students.

The university is very welcoming towards the international students. They encourage the international students and the American students to be involved with each other. Not only that, the facilities provided are great such as a free food pantry, and links for students to adapt better in a different country and also information on social events that happens around the university.

Tell us about Troy University

The facilities are not only very well maintained but are also quite close to each other. The campus is big but you can walk and easily get to the places. Since we are international students, we don't have a car and it's good that you can walk to the places. There is a bus that takes you to Walmart to buy groceries regularly. The bedrooms are clean and big, and the people are usually quite respectful. In addition, the university organizes fun and entertaining social events that you can attend for free.
