Student reviews for Indiana Wesleyan University
IWU is a fantastic school providing numerous academic and extracurricular opportunities. Because we are a private Christian college, there is a lot of great community with likeminded people. Furthermore, smaller class sizes leads to more interaction with fellow students and one-on-one interactions with professors.
I am so grateful that my campus is one that is well taken care of. From the resident halls to the grounds is well kept and clean. I feel like I have a lot of things to my disposal, and if it is not I can ask for information to enquire about it. The social life started out rocky. I am not a super social person, but as I got comfortable I came out my shell and found likeminded people who were willing to understand me and my culture. I feel safe in knowing that I have people in my corner who will be there for me when I need them. The international team (from the IGO office) has been so helpful with this.
Indiana Wesleyan University has been a second home place for me because since the first day I have visited, every single person on campus made an environment that I feel so welcomed. I am on the soccer team here, and social, academic, and athletic environment is amazing.
The University has great housing accommodations, specifically upper classman housing. The buildings and educational facilities are kept clean and tidy, and provide a very sound educational environment.
Indiana Wesleyan has become my second home. Not only has it grown me academically but it has grown me spiritually. Leaving all of my family and friends and moving across the country to further achieve my dreams was one of the most difficult and scary things I have ever had to do. My University has made this process so much easier. The faculty and staff are so understanding and show me that they actually care about me as a person not just as a student. They are constantly checking in on me and how I am doing and always asking if there is anything that they can do for me. Another reason my University has become my second home is because of understanding they are with my allergy. I am have a very extreme nut allergy and everyday at the cafeteria the staff always makes sure there is something I can eat and will come up to me and personally tell me what is safe for me to eat. I have looked at so many Universities before I moved out here and Indiana Wesleyan was the University that made me feel the safest coming out here. I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to come out to America and I am so grateful for my University and all of the friends I have been able to make.
