Funding

Merit Scholarships These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and merit at the high school level. Recipients typically have an SAT score of 1000 or better or an ACT composite score of 21 or better, accompanied by a 3.0-grade point average in a college-preparatory curriculum. The Brenau Scholarship Committee will determine the award based on these minimum criteria and the level of coursework attempted by the applicant.

  • Amount

    Ranges between $8,000 - $16,000

Athletic Scholarships Student-athletes who play on varsity basketball, soccer, swimming, softball, tennis, volleyball, cross country or track and field teams may apply for athletic scholarships. The scholarships are based on try-outs and recommendations by coaches

Program Scholarships Different programs offer scholarships based on audition, GPA and/or portfolio review. Nursing, Dance, Theatre, Music, Studio Art, and Interior Design may offer scholarships to qualified candidates.

Tell us about Brenau University

I think the university counts with lots of opportunities for the students. The faculty and staff are a great support and tool for the educational journey. One think could be better would be the transportation options for international students, specially becuase must of us do not count with a car. So, it would be good to expand the help provided to the student without a transport medium.

The staff at the university have been very kind and supportive. I was glad that the staff communicated with me closely for the preparation before school started. The Historic Gainesville campus is very beautiful and the location is nice in a suburban area. As I commute to school by car, it is good that there is no heavy traffic around that area.

    The personal attention each student receives in his/her program is one of the stand-out benefits students receive. This is in part to our 9:1 student/teacher ratio, but also purposely created through an immersive curriculum that engages students beyond simply the textbook.

    One of the best things about our university is our people! Our faculty, staff, and students make for a very safe and welcoming environment for international students. Also, because of our small-to-medium size, there is ample opportunity for students to get involved in various aspects of leadership and campus club involvement.

    Students live and study on our beautiful historic campus one hour north of downtown Atlanta in Gainesville, Georgia. We are situated near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and are adjacent to the largest manmade lake in the southeastern United States - Lake Sidney Lanier. It is truly, the best of both worlds! Many students study in our allied health science programs and we are one of only a handful of universities that offers a Direct Entry Nursing program for incoming freshmen, whereby they will have a preferred admission status with the Nursing Department for the competitive Nursing cohort that begins their junior year. Our business (Supply Chain, Accounting, Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration) and fine art programs (Interior Design, Dance, Studio Art, and Theatre) are also very popular tracks. Additionally, each fall we offer our MBA program for international students at our Gainesville campus site.
