The university has a great reputation and recruitment rates after graduation. I study on a great course, but unfortunately the university itself isn't as great. The don't provide enough funding for my course and they force our programme leader to stretch very thin having to manage the entire course on her own, which makes it very difficult. They also took away some of our studios and have been disrespectful to the Theatre design course. The university is far from central London, but it's ok, very manageable. The community overall is lovely, but the management has been quite disorganized sometimes and even disrespectful to me personally on some occasions.

The Univeristy before the changeover to Rose Bruford as ALRA London base campus was understaffed for their admin department. Our course heads, professors, and freelancers were doing double duty. The school’s international staff was limited.

Bruford has a beautiful campus. There seems to be a lot of unique and useful spaces. CC accommodation needs some work but it is very conveniently located. I would like for there to be more extracurricular activities available to students on campus. There seem to be a lot of societies but those that I have been involved with don’t meet often. It is difficult to make friends if your course isn’t directly involved with the other courses.

My uni is very much a place with a nice atmosphere and friendly faces. I personally don´t stay in the accommondation offered by the uni, but I´ve spent a lot of time there given that my friends are. It´s very expensive and not very nice. Lifts are down on the regular, they up the prices often etc. The campus is beautiful, a bit crowded sometimes.

Lewisham college hosting the MFA program allows more space for the masters students. However I wish more for activities to be based at the Sidcup Campus.

What Rose Bruford College says

  • Profile of Caroline Jenkins
    Caroline Jenkins
    Caroline Jenkins says:

The College's close proximity to Central London means that our students can easily explore and enjoy everything that the City has to offer. London is the home to numerous theatres, live event spaces, bars, restaurants, cafes, shops, and museums.

Most of our undergraduate courses are taught at our beautiful Sidcup campus, in the grounds of the historic Lamorbey House and surrounded by parkland. Central London is under 20 minutes by train from Sidcup train station. Most of our postgraduate courses are taught at our Lewisham campus, which is 10 minutes from Central London by train.

Students receive many opportunities to build their professional networks whilst they do their very practical training with us. Most of our visiting lecturers work in the industry and students work on industry placements. Towards the end of their studies, students have opportunities to show their work at public productions, showcases, or an exhibition (these options vary between courses). We have a great Student Services team who provide advice and support. These services include study support, disability support, a counselling service, and advice on money and accommodation. There is also an ‘out-of-hours crisis phone line' and someone on reception 24 hours/day at our student accommodation. Students go on to work in the TV, film, theatre, live events, and gaming industries.
