Avans University of Applied Sciences (Avans) has been ranked the best university of applied sciences in the Netherlands for six years in a row. The University has also been in the top three of the national rankings for the last eight years.
Avans adheres to a project-based learning system which is designed to give you the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to then apply in real-world situations by doing work placements. The aim is for graduates to meet the vocational requirements of organizations that operate internationally. Avans offers English-taught Bachelor programs in international business, finance, engineering, and environmental science.
Avans was founded in 2004 following a merger of Hogeschool Brabant and Hogeschool ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Avans has campuses located in 4 cities: Breda, 's-Hertogenbosch, Roosendaal and Tilburg. All are in the Noord-Brabant province in the south of The Netherlands, a popular country for international study in Europe.

Avans is located in four cities: Breda, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Roosendaal and Tilburg. All four cities are located in Noord-Brabant province in the south of the Netherlands. An area with a strong international focus, it won the European Entrepreneurial Award in 2014.

Student reviews for Avans University of Applied Sciences
The university provides several study places where you can comfortably study. They provide me with all the materials, book, information, and sources to complete all my assignments (library). They have several cafeteria with different types of food and drinks. The transportation to the university is very easy, safe, and convenient. In addition, the university provide parking spaces for bike, scooter and cars for students. The social life within the university is limited, but they provide a few areas where you can chill and have a chat or just to relax.
Avans University is a hub for open-minded people sharing the same passion, to help the environment! There is a strong bond that can be formed with teachers and other students, during the years.The Lovensdrijkstraat Xplora building is a really nice place to work, as the windows bring in natural light, so it doesn't feel like you've been cooped up inside studying all day. Accomodation in Breda is hard to find, but through Facebook it is easier to sub-rent a room.
Avans is a very modern university in which there are many social areas to hang out with friends and also many study areas for individual study and group collaboration. All of the facilities are excellent and it is a very safe and warm atmosphere.
The campus is quite big, the main building is just 10 minutes walk from the furthest building so it’s very easy to move from one building to another. There are various activities you can choose, such as the introduction camp, the HBO festival and many more! During those activities that will last for the whole year you will meet a lot of new people and make new friends.
