Student reviews for Wilfrid Laurier University
Nice, it is the best university. They care about students and about their ideas.
Good communication. Abundant study facilities. And an extensive network that allows students to attend classes.
Laurier is home to about 19000 students and has campuses in Waterloo, Brantford, and another one currently in construction at Milton. Since its a relatively small campus, it is easy to navigate the space and also meet new friends. The professors are really helpful and always want the students to succeed. They have office hours every week so that students can get their doubts clarified by speaking one-on-one to the professor. However, university life can be hard and that's why we have lots of support for students both academically and experience-wise. Some of the supports and facilities I love and have used are Academic Advising, Athletic Centre, Wellness Centre, Math & Stat Support, etc. Furthermore, Laurier International, the international student office on campus supports students settling in Canada by providing an International orientation, advising appointments, and hosting events such as multi-cultural galas, snow tubing, trips to Niagara, etc.
Wilfrid Laurier is an amazing campus that is relatively small. It is small enough where professors will know you by name and you get to know your classmates but big enough where you are always meeting new people and finding new friends. There are endless clubs and associations you are able to join so you always have a chance to meet like minded individuals with the same interests as you. Residence offered in first year is very nice and no more than a 10 minute walk away which may not sound like a big deal but as soon as there is snow on the ground, proximity to campus is a huge factor.
