Sydney is one of the most expensive Australian cities to live in, so you will need a substantial budget for your living costs. Rent can be higher than the national average, and not necessarily close to your university, which increases the need for transportation.

How to study in Sydney

To apply to a Sydney university, you’ll need to meet specific requirements for the university and program. The exact requirements will differ between programs, universities and degree levels, but you’ll at least need to have completed secondary education to a good standard.

You’ll also need to prove that your English language skills are good enough to study in English. This can be done with the requested IELTS iBT or TOEFL tests.

You’ll need to arrange for the correct visa before you can study at a university in Sydney. When you’ve been accepted onto a program and accepted your place, you should apply for your Australian student visa.
