The city is known as being the home to the largest azalea garden in Texas, and it holds a number of events and festivals during the year that students can attend. Nacogdoches also has plenty of family-owned shops and restaurants, music venues, bars and nightclubs.
The city is located in East Texas, and the cities of Houston and Dallas are a couple of hours away by car for those students that want a more vibrant atmosphere. The closest airport is East Texas Regional Airport which has passenger flights to Dallas, or students can travel to Houston for flights to the rest of the US and overseas.
