Their main Hattiesburg campus is set across 300 acres, and more than 180 buildings. The Gulf Park campus located in Long Beach is located on the beach front and is home to the state’s only bachelor’s degree in ocean engineering.
The University is made up of four main colleges in arts and science, business and economic development, education and human sciences, and nursing and health professions. They offer more than 190 undergraduate programs and 204 graduate programs.

They also provide opportunities for cultural outings and activities, and advice to international clubs and organizations.
USM encourages all its students to support the local community, and each year students contribute approximately 100,000 hours of volunteer service.
USM is a residential campus, offering on-campus housing options to both freshman and transfer students.
