The University of Vermont (UVM) is a public research university in Burlington, Vermont, US. It offers students a choice of over 100 majors including business, education, engineering, environment, health and life sciences, as well as the Global Gateway Program (GGP) that helps international students adjust to studying at the University of Vermont.
UVM boasts a wide range of facilities for all students including the Bailey/Howe Library that’s home to the largest collection of books in Vermont. The campus offers places to eat, relax and study, and there’s a shuttle transportation system that makes getting around campus easy.
The Patrick-Forbush-Gutterson Athletic Complex provides a variety of sporting facilities including a fitness center, swimming pool, ice rink, tennis and squash courts, and multipurpose studios. UVM also offers 18 varsity sports, and the University’s teams compete in the NCAA Division I as the Catamounts.
If you want to get involved in sports at a more relaxed level during your time at UVM, there are 60 club sports you can join. Some are involved in intercollegiate competition, and there are another 20 intramural teams.

As an international undergraduate student you must live on campus for the first two years of your degree program. Undergraduate GGP students will live in Marsh-Austin Tupper residences, which is a three-winged hall and is also home to the Global Gateway Program support services.
Living on campus is the ideal way to settle into life at UVM and make new friends. You’ll also be able to get involved in one of the more than 210 student clubs and organizations, which include a nationally recognized debate team, student-run newspaper, radio station, TV station, and a host of other cultural, political, and religious clubs.
