Founded in 1872, Concord University (CU) is a public, liberal arts institution located in Athens, West Virginia with more than 2,100 students enrolled. The University is well positioned just 90 minutes from the West Virginia capital of Charleston and a three-hour drive from Charlotte, North Carolina

Concord University is known for its academic rigor and offers 80 areas of study, including business, computer science, communications, recreation and tourism, art and biology. CU boasts a faculty-to-student ratio of just 15 to 1, small classes and faculty who are professionally experienced.

CU’s sports and athletics teams compete in NCAA Division II in a range of sports including basketball, football and tennis. The University also offers a variety of student clubs and societies you can join, which are a great way to meet new people and settle into life at Concord.

Concord University boasts an international community with 100 international students representing 35 countries from across the globe.

CU is committed to offering excellent support and services to their international students. International Student Services provides advice on immigration matters, health insurance, employment, practical training, travel regulations and community involvement.

The University also provides programs and services designed to make your life at CU as enjoyable as possible, including orientation, social activities and informational sessions. All international students are required to live on-campus and housing is available in one of three residence halls.
