Why study in York?
York is a picturesque medieval city in the north of England. The city can trace its history back to the Roman Empire, and was once the Roman capital of ‘Lower Britain’. York boasts a wealth of stunning old buildings, including York Minster which is regarded as one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the world. Students studying in York will never be far from history.
The city is also on the doorstep of some of Britain’s most iconic countryside, with the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors within easy reach. York is a relatively small city, so getting around by foot is possible, or you can take one of the city’s buses. York railway station connects the city to the rest of the UK, providing services to London, Edinburgh and Birmingham among others.
