Why study in High Wycombe?

High Wycombe is a picturesque English town located in the county of Buckinghamshire. Known for its rural landscapes, lively markets and historical attractions, High Wycombe offers a quintessentially British study abroad experience.

The town is filled with things to do and places to visit. Quirky pubs, stately homes, theater performances, and a bustling shopping scene will meet the interests of almost any student.

High Wycombe has also maintained an array of historical rituals and traditions. The annual weighing of the town’s Mayor in the market square is perhaps the most famous.

Direct trains connect High Wycombe to the bright lights of London. Regular buses transport students to and from the nearby international airports of Heathrow, Luton and Stansted.

Firstly, is located 30 minutes away from London and Oxford, from there goes a straight transport to Birmingham and if you would like to visit Windsor at some point, High Wycombe is the right choice for you! But even if you are not the traveled one, there are still many options how to spend your time and not feel bored. Museum, Theatre, historical buildings, parks, restaurants, shopping centre and so many other public spaces are not missed here. I think I do not miss anything but Czech beer. But if you are not as demanding as I am, you will like the pubs here with all the local and popular drinks here.

There’s a lot of international people living in here which helps us to adapt really fast to the student life. Shops are very close to the university so no need for transportation overall. As a lot of students live nearby you will be able to go out with your mates safely.

Studying in High Wycombe has been an exceptional experience for an international student like me. The town is safe to live in, though that is relative as this pertains to my area of the town. There are some areas which are hotspots for crime and should be avoided.
The people of the town are quite welcoming more often than not.
The town centre features all of the basic facilities as well as a fairly large shopping centre which is located next to the university.
The night life in Wycombe is lacking as there are only a handful of clubs in the town. However, it is fortunate that the town has direct links to Oxford and London via the rail network so students can go to either of these other towns which have a far better nightlife.
There are plenty of employment opportunities too for students in the towns shopping centre and other establishments in the town.
