The smart alternative to applying direct for a degree at the University of Strathclyde and the easy way to find programs that match your eligibility and aspirations
The University of Strathclyde is a public research institution founded in 1796, making it Glasgow’s second oldest university. The University offers a wide range of programs and subjects at all levels, including courses designed for international students.
The University’s International Study Center offers pathway programs to international students that give you the academic and English language skills you need to undertake a degree at Strathclyde. The International Study Center will introduce you to the style of teaching that you’ll experience on your degree at Strathclyde, and includes tutorials, seminar-style classes and large group lectures.
You will be part of the University from the day you start and you will have access to all the University’s facilities including the library, sports center and students’ union. The University also offers bars, restaurants, cafés, more than 170 clubs and societies, nearly 50 sport and fitness clubs, and a student media center.

As a student at the International Study Center and Strathclyde, you’ll have access to all the help and support you’ll need. This includes an information and advice team, student financial support team, chaplaincy, disability service, counseling service and a student health service.
You will also have your own study advisor and a study skills service that’s designed to help you enhance your academic performance, across all academic disciplines. There’s also a careers service that can help you identify career paths that could suit your qualifications, experience and skills.
All international students have the opportunity to live in halls of residence on campus with other students. Living on campus is a great way to settle into life away from home and to make new friends. Each hall of residence is only a few minutes’ walk from the International Study Center and main university buildings, and has a dedicated on-site management team and a night porter outside office hours.
