Why study in Durham?
Durham is a city in the North East of England, County Durham. The area is known for being a cheaper option for students than many southern areas of England, but has a strong economy due to government investment in the north of the country. Outside of the city there is vast countryside to explore, giving opportunities for walking and cycling on the moors, or simply admiring the landscapes.
With a population of less than 100,000 Durham is a small city, meaning students are able to get around on foot; the small size also gives the city more of a community feel with locals and students mingling in the same areas and at the same events. 12 minutes away by train is the larger city of Newcastle, perfect for nights out, shopping and transport links to the rest of the UK.
