The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) is one of the UK’s most popular universities with over 36,000 students. It’s located in Bristol, England, and it works with local industries to help develop its programs and provide its students with employment-enhancing opportunities.

UWE Bristol is made up of four main faculties: Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education, Faculty of Business and Law, Faculty of Environment and Technology, Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences. Each faculty offers a wide range of programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, professional, and short course level.

The main university campus is located four miles outside Bristol city center in Frenchay and is home to the £55 million Bristol Business and Law School, new 8,500 m2 multimillion-pound School of Engineering, Department of Arts and Cultural Industries as well as Education and Childhood and Department of Health and Social Sciences.

The Glenside Campus in Fishponds, Bristol is home to Allied Health Professions such as nursing, midwifery, optometry, and paramedic science. The City Campus is in the center of Bristol and is home to the creative and cultural industries programs.

Life as an international student

The University’s Global Student Support team are available to help you with any information and advice you might need. They aim to make sure you get all the support you need to get the best from your time at UWE Bristol.

All new international students attend International Student Orientation before the start of your first semester. It’s your chance to meet other students, members of staff, and get to know the University.

The University also encourages students from overseas to get involved with life on campus as much as possible. There are over 180 groups, societies, sports clubs and volunteering activities you can join where you can meet like minded people.

Fees and funding

Whether you are applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate course, UWE Bristol has a variety of international and country-specific scholarships available to help you fund your studies.

Fee information

  • Undergraduate tuition: from £14,250 to £15,500 per year
  • Graduate tuition: from £14,000 to £14,750 per year
  • MBA tuition: £16,250 per year

Funding

EU Scholarship

UWE Bristol is offering this scholarship to show their support and commitment to EU students who choose UWE Bristol as the place to study.

Amount: The scholarship is up to a maximum of £4000 per annum (with the exception of the placement year).

To be eligible for the award, you must be ordinarily resident in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

Chancellor's Scholarship

Recipients of this graduate scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Office or other departments. It will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of the course.

Amount: 50% of tuition fees for one academic year only

Requirements: To hold an unconditional offer or a conditional offer where IELTS or equivalent English language and be a new student to UWE Bristol with no previous UK study

International Sport Scholarship

If you are a high performing athlete, UWE Bristol offers exceptional opportunities to pursue your sporting ambitions with the International Sport Scholarships. The scholarship offers a 30% tuition fee discount plus a comprehensive performance sport support package.

Recipients of this scholarship will be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of their course.

Following graduation, recipients will also be expected to be an active member of the UWE Bristol Alumni Network by helping the University to promote its programs to prospective students.
