    Life as an international student

    Each year, 300 international students take advantage of the opportunities offered at Kristianstad University. The University runs a free pick-up service, so you’ll receive a warm welcome as soon as you arrive.

    You’ll also benefit from a fun introductory package. The international office arranges numerous social and cultural activities, including dinners, tours, and trips to Swedish cities, to help you settle in and meet fellow students.

      Tell us about Kristianstad University
      Kristianstad University offers two different places for accommodation to stay at during studies. Åhus Resorts, which is a little further from the university, is right next to the beach and has a relaxing ambience. Fängelse, an old prison that now houses students, is much closer to the university and more students can fit here, meaning there is always something going on inside and students hanging out. Transportation is good, and there are always buses going to the campus from the central station, and if you walk to the university from the city center it is only about a 35 minute walk. Overall, sometimes I wished the university was in the city center more or less, to avoid the commute to the campus, but it does not offer a big inconvenience. I actually believe Kristianstad University is trying to be approved to build or have classes behind central station to make it easier on students who come by train for lectures, to not have a longer commute to campus. Social life as an international student is fairly well, I have realized that many Swedish students here keep to themselves, and do not interact with international students. Many of the international students have discussed this cultural difference and usually the internationals stick together, and since there are many of us from all over, it creates a diversity of friends.

    • Postgraduate tuition: from SEK67,500 to SEK135,000 per year

    Funding

    Kristianstad University Scholarship

    The scholarship will be awarded to citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA with the requirement of paying tuition fees for studies at Kristianstad University. If granted a scholarship, it will include a full or partial reduction of the tuition fees. Keep in mind that these scholarships do not cover your living costs.
