You can study information management as a bachelor’s degree over a minimum of three years, but four-year courses integrating a sandwich year are also common. Placements allow students to put what they’ve learned into practice and gather crucial industry experience.
If you’re excited by the prospect of studying in the US, you’ll probably know that undergraduate degrees follow the liberal arts model. You’ll take a combination of general education classes and courses specific to your information management major.
Those looking to extend their knowledge and take their employability to the next level will find plenty of excellent master’s and doctoral programs. MSc courses normally last between one and two years, with research-based PhDs adding a few more years on top. Your timetable will blend theoretical and practical-based teaching. You’ll be expected to attend a range of lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops and laboratories. The modules included in information management programs vary from university to university.
