Forensic Science program structure
At undergraduate level, bachelor’s degrees in forensic science may take between three and four years to complete. At master’s level, a program will last between one and two years. A PhD in forensics will take at least three years full time to complete.
Forensic science degrees may be accredited by an official body or organization in the country you are studying in. This means that they meet the strict standards of practice necessary for a professional environment.
At some institutions you are able to experience a work placement as part of your degree, giving you real world experience of what you’ve learnt on your course.
You’ll study the main areas of forensic science through modules. Some areas of study are compulsory, and others are elective for you to specialize in or expand your knowledge in other subjects. Some of the most common module topics in forensic science include:
