Missouri Western State University (MWSU) is a state-supported institution located in St Joseph, Missouri. It offers a range of degree programs including professional master’s degrees, four year baccalaureate degrees, two year associate degrees, pre-professional transfer programs and one year certificates.
The University is made up of six colleges and schools covering liberal arts and sciences, fine arts, nursing and health professions, and business and technology. It also boasts nine program specific accreditations, more than any public university in northwest Missouri.
MSWU’s athletics teams compete in the NCAA Division II and has teams for baseball, football, basketball, cross country, golf, and track and field. There are also over 90 student organizations available, so there are plenty of opportunities outside of the classroom.

That is why they have established the International Excellence Scholarship to recruit the best and brightest students from around the world. While the University offers a variety of academic merit-based scholarships, it doesn't offer need-based scholarships or financial assistance to international students. However, merit-based scholarships plus affordable tuition make Missouri Western a great option for cost-conscious students and parents.

Renewable up to 4 years or 8 semesters New student who provides minimum TOEFL 72 iBT, or IELTS 5.5. overall band, or full completion of MWSU’s Intensive English Program, AND minimum high school GPA 2.75 (4.00 grading scale.) Student may renew or keep the award with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 at the end of each academic year
