Study abroad at Trine University

Located in Angola, Indiana, and formerly known as Tri-State University, Trine is a private, non-profit university. It offers degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the arts and sciences, business, education and engineering.

Their 450-acre main campus is located in picturesque Steuben County, and includes residence halls and apartment-style campus housing, award-winning dining commons, and a championship golf course that’s hosted PGA events and NCAA national championships.

Trine has more than 60 clubs and student organizations, including five sororities and eight fraternities. The Universities sports teams are known as the Thunder, and are a member of NCAA Division III. They compete in a number of sports including ice hockey, softball, lacrosse, basketball, and golf among others.

Fees and funding

Trine University provides a high-quality education at a price you can afford by keeping tuition low and offering great financial-aid packages awarding 94 percent of students with more than $31 million in scholarships and grants.

Top scholarships cover up to half of the tuition for international students.

Undergraduate Tuition:

  • ESL programs - $10,200 per year (includes tuition - room and board - student fees) - normal price $20,400 has a 50% discount.
  • Tuition Non-Engineering - $31,700 / year
  • Tuition Science majors - $31,700 / year
  • Tuition Engineering majors - $34,200 / year
  • Postgraduate Tuition - $12,880 / year

Scholarships offered to eligible undergraduate international students (no ESL) based on academic merit. Scholarships are renewed annually. ACT/SAT scores are recommended

  • President's Scholarship - $16,000 per year (3.9 GPA, ACT 27 / SAT 1200)
  • Distinguished Scholarship - $14,000 per year (3.7 GPA, ACT 25 / SAT 1100)
  • Dean's Scholarship - $13,000 per year (3.5 GPA, ACT 23 / SAT 1030)
  • University Scholarship - $11,000 per year (3.2 GPA, ACT 21 / SAT 970)
  • Discovery Award - $7,000 per year (2.8 GPA, ACT 19 / SAT 910)

Additional financial aid is available on needs-base, on top of the merit scholarships. It depends on parents/guardians income, and you'll need to fill in a form provided by the University.

Scholarships for transfer students are also available ranging from $10,000 - 16,000.
