Study abroad at Lancaster University

Lancaster University is a top-ranked public research university situated on a 560-acre campus just outside the city of Lancaster, England. The University offers a wide range of degree programs across nine different colleges.

As an international student you can study at the University’s International Study Center, which will prepare you for studying in England and make sure you’re ready to start a degree at Lancaster University. They offer a range of pathway programs including pre-master’s courses, which will give you the skills you’ll need to study a postgraduate degree at Lancaster.

As a student at the International Student Center you’ll be able to take advantage of all the University’s campus facilities. These include shops, banks, places to eat and drink, a theater, a doctor's surgery and pharmacy.

The University also has a number of sports and recreational facilities you can enjoy, including a sports center, swimming pool, tennis courts and sports pitches. You could also join one of the more than 35 sports clubs ranging from American Football to Korfball, and compete against other universities and institutions.

Life as an international student

Lancaster University is boasts an inclusive and diverse student population, with more than 3,000 students from overseas calling Lancaster home.

When you arrive at Lancaster to study at the International Study Center, you’ll take part in an induction that will give you a complete introduction to the UK, and the University. You will get the chance to meet your new classmates and enjoy a range of social activities, including a tour of the University campus.

There are a range of support services available to all international students throughout their time at the International Study Center and Lancaster University. Help is available through the Lancaster Student Union (LUSU) whatever issues you might be facing including medical help, academic assistance or personal support.

LUSU also offers a wide range of student clubs, societies and events to help you meet new people and integrate yourself into campus life. These include nearly 200 activity groups, volunteering opportunities and annual events like the campus festival and graduation ball.
