The University of Stellenbosch (SU) is an institution with its main campus in Stellenbosch, South Africa. SU is made up of ten faculties: agrisciences, economic and management sciences, medicine and health sciences, engineering, military sciences, arts and social sciences, science, education, law and theology.
The University’s main campus contains eight of the faculties and is situated about 50 km from Cape Town and just 30 km from Cape Town International Airport. The University of Stellenbosch Business School is located on the Bellville Park campus.
SU is known as a residential campus with an active residential life, which makes residence placement sought-after among students. As the demand of housing on campus currently exceeds the amount available, the University is continuously expanding.

Life as an international student

International students are encouraged to be involved with the community through MAD² (Making A Decision 2 Make A Difference) and Matie Community Service — this is in addition to community interaction within your study subject.
A wide variety of student associations and sporting codes are also available for student development. The Students' Representative Council, house committees and the Frederik Van Zyl Slabbert Institute for Student Leadership Development are also available for students to get involved with.
