The cost of study in Lebanon

Tuition costs are calculated using credits. Students can pay as much as $30,000 for their credits for the year (two semesters). This fee may also include items such as books and equipment.

Living costs are similar to those in the US and Europe, with most students setting aside around $15,000 a year for accommodation, food and travel.

Where to study in Lebanon

Lebanon can be a difficult country to travel around, and the majority of international students are in the country’s capital, Beirut. Tripoli is the country’s second largest city and has a similar atmosphere to Beirut, mixing old and new into a thriving city.

Each university will have their own entry requirements, but it will usually include the completion of secondary education (12 years minimum). In some cases a university will need you to do a foundation year to fulfill their qualification requirements.

English language tests

If the language of instruction of your chosen program is English, you will need to have an English language proficiency test result such as TOEFL or IELTS.

Lebanon student visa

It’s likely that you’ll need a visa to stay in Lebanon for an extended period of time. As the process differs per country, you’ll need to contact your local consulate or embassy who will help you with the process.

Once in Lebanon, students need to obtain a residence permit before their visa that they traveled to Lebanon on expires. Getting a residence permit can take two months to issue and universities can advise on the process and document requirements.
