The Macromedia University of Applied Sciences is a private international university with campuses across Germany, including Munich, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. It is one of the largest German universities for programs in areas such as media management, design, arts, music and business management.

The University boasts around 100 professors and more than 3,500 students from 80 different countries, and offers two English-language Bachelor of Honors programs in partnership with the University of Westminster.

Students are taught by professors from the start of the first semester, and the university regularly hosts personalities from the world of media, politics and business who give talks and can also work with the students in workshops and forums.

Life as an international student

The university’s International Office can organize a buddy if you’d like one, and they can help with any questions you have about studying abroad as an international student at Macromedia University.

After graduation, you could be eligible for an 18 month job search residence permit (visa). This can allow you to take up any employment while you look for a job in your field. Fees and funding

The Macromedia University scholarship program offers a few partial scholarships to support talented applicants to finance their programs. The criteria for inclusion in the program are grades at school and/or university and voluntary work for social causes.

This is because Macromedia University aspires not just to train its students on a professional level, but also to qualify and support them with regard to their personal development.

Undergraduate Tuition:

  • Non-EU Students €10,500 per year
  • EU students €10,500 per year

Postgraduate Tuition:

  • Non-EU / EU Students €12,800 per year
  • Need-based scholarship

    For students who can prove financial support is needed to manage the costs of studying abroad in Germany.

  • Merit-based scholarship

    For high achieving students who have outstanding grades or excellent record in social engagement like volunteering experience.

  • The Indian-German friendship scholarship

    For students who apply from India to study at Macromedia University.

The decision to award scholarships is made by an internal scholarship committee. The amount can be between 10% and 30% of the tuition fee.
