Why study in Antigonish?

Antigonish is a small town located in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is home to St. Francis Xavier University; regarded as one of Canada’s most prestigious institutions. The town has strong Gaelic roots, and hosts the oldest continuous Highland games outside Scotland.

The town is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland, and is close to a number of beaches on the nearby coast. Antigonish experiences clearly defined seasons, with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The nearest large city is the provincial capital Halifax, which is just over 100 miles away.
