Study abroad at the University of Western Australia

The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a public research university, with its main campus in the Australian city of Perth. It is a member of the prestigious Group of Eight Australian Universities, and is one of the country’s most well regarded and highly ranked institutions.

Taylors College Perth is located on the University’s Claremont campus, and offers foundation and diploma pathway programs. These courses are designed to give you the academic and English language skills you’ll need to progress onto a degree program at UWA.

As an international student at Taylors College Perth, you’ll have access to the facilities across all the UWA campuses. These include modern classrooms, computer and media labs, science labs, extensive library, student common room and cafe, and sporting facilities.

Life as an international student

As an international student at Taylors College, staff will be on hand to help you with your studies, any personal issues you may have while living away from home, and choosing the right university program once your pathway course is finished.

The Student Support Center staff can help you with any personal, welfare and social issues, and personal counseling services are available. If you need to, you can get in touch with a member of staff 24 hours a day.

You’ll be able to take advantage of all the University’s more than 125 student clubs and organizations, in a range of interests, including hip-hop, photography and film. UWA Sport offers a wide range of sports you can get involved with including such as soccer, rugby, tennis and cricket.

You can live on campus in one of the University’s residences. Living in University halls means you can socialize and make friends with over 2,500 students from around the world. If you are under 18 years of age, you will live with a homestay family, which will provide you with a safe and comfortable home environment.

Global Excellence Scholarship

The University of Western Australia is offering scholarships to high achieving students across the globe. This significant scholarship will be awarded to high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students, from selected countries, who apply for particular courses at the University.

The scholarships will be open to eligible students applying to commence their studies from Semester One in 2020.

Global Sporting Excellence Scholarship

The University of Western Australia is offering sporting scholarships to high-performing athletes, coaches and officials from across the globe who study with us.

This significant scholarship will be awarded to high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students from many different countries who are studying a wide variety of courses at the University.

The scholarships will be open to eligible students applying to commence their studies from Semester One in 2020.

Postgraduate scholarships for Mexican students

WA provides some postgraduate scholarships to Mexican students who are recipients of scholarships or funding from CONACYT and FIDERH

Postgraduate scholarships for Colombian students

UWA has a number of agreements with funding agencies in Colombia, including COLFUTURO, ICETEX and COLCIENCIAS, to provide a 25% tuition discount to scholarship recipients.

Postgraduate – Research

There are two major scholarship schemes for postgraduate students interested in research courses. These include the International Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships

English Language Course Scholarship for International Ph.D. Students

UWA English Language Bridging Scholarship is a 10-week pre-course English language program, offered free of charge to selected students who have been offered a Ph.D. place at UWA and have not quite achieved the UWA English entry requirement. For more information contact [email protected]

International Loyalty Program

UWA offers reduced fees to the third and subsequent siblings of international students who have studied or are currently studying at the University.
