"Gain a comprehensive knowledge of the core areas in psychology, as well as the practical skills associated to them with this fully online, part-time Psychology MSc from the University of Liverpool.
This online programme is designed to guide you in the construction of knowledge of the central features within the discipline of psychology, which will enable you to put principles into effect in a variety of settings including research, practice and the interface of applied research. The experience and skills developed will also be appreciated by employers in a wide range of professions outside of the field of psychology.

Admissions requirements

These pages detail entry requirements, intakes and english language entry requirements in order to study at the University of Liverpool

All applicants must provide evidence that they have an English language ability equivalent to an IELTS (academic) general score of 6.5

IELTS Requirements for Undergraduate Programs:

  • Faculty of Sciences / Engineering - 6.0 (minimum 5.5 each component)
  • Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences / Health and Life Sciences - 6.5 (minimum 5.5 each component)
  • Medicine / Dentistry / Veterinary - 7.0 (minimum 7.0 each component

IELTS Requirements for Postgraduate Programs:

  • Science / Engineering 6.5 (minimum of 5.5 each component)

Undergraduate

Successful completion of a foundation year at Liverpool International College or first year of a recognised university degree. International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 28 points

Postgraduate

Successful completion of a bachelor's degree from a recognised University with minimum higher second division (lower second division from some universities)

For the Digital Marketing, International HRM, Management, Sports, Business Management, Project Management, Finance and Investment Management programs:

  • Professional work experience in a related field and/or other prior qualifications will be considered case-by-case basis. For the Healthcare Leadership program:
  • An equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree coupled with two years of relevant professional experience in a healthcare-related setting is required.

Online

  • A minimum of a 2:2 class degree in a subject other than computer science or IT, equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, coupled with two years experience in employment; or
  • Professional work experience in a related field and/or other prior qualifications will be considered case-by-case basis.

Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security

A degree in computer science or a closely related subject, equivalent to a 2:2 UK bachelor’s degree, coupled with two years’ relevant IT professional experience; or Professional work experience in IT or a related field and/or other prior qualifications will be considered case-by-case basis.

Computer Science and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

A degree in a subject other than Computer Science or IT, equivalent to a 2:2 UK bachelor’s degree, coupled with two years experience in employment; or Professional work experience and/or other prior qualifications will be considered case-by-case basis.

Psychology

Applicants should possess one of the following:

  • A minimum of a 2:1 class degree in any subject including psychology equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree; or 
  • A minimum of a 2:2 class degree in any subject including psychology equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree AND have gained at least two years of relevant professional experience.

*Non-psychology applicants will normally require a GCSE Grade 4 (grade C) or GCE O Level pass in Mathematics and English, or an equivalent qualification

PGCAP

Applicants must have:

  • A degree equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree or equivalent; and
  • Hold a teaching position in a higher education institution at Descriptor level 2 of the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF). "

Vice chancellor's Attainment Award

AAB or equivalent - £2,000 fee reduction for first year of study. A*AA or equivalent - £2,500 fee reduction for first year of study.

Introductory Scholarship for Academic Practice (PGCAP)

Only available for the Postgraduate Certificate Academic Practice, reduces 15% of the tuition fee
