Exemptions:
It is required that you send BHSU official transcripts for all educational institutions you have attended.
High School Transcripts: Must be in a sealed and stamped envelope, mailed directly from the issuing institution, translated into English. Must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.6 (if you will be entering BHSU directly post-secondary school). If you took the WAEC, please send your official WAEC Certificate and new / unused scratch card to BHSU
College / university transcripts: Must be in a sealed and stamped envelope, mailed directly from the issuing institution, translated into English
If you are transferring from another university or college you must have a minimum university GPA of 2.0. If you would like the possibility of your university credits transferred from a university outside the US, please obtain a course-by-course evaluation from WES or ECE to be sent to BHSU.

The cost of attendance at BHSU is great value for international students. The estimated annual tuition and fees (24 credits) is under $10,000 with housing, room and board, insurance, and books estimated at an additional $8,000. This is a total estimated annual cost under $20,000.

Live in a residence hall on campus free of charge (Up to 8 academic semesters). Housing costs vary year to year; however, the current estimated value is $14,000 distributed over four years. This competitive scholarship is awarded only to international students, and recipients are selected based on a personal essay, GPA, test scores, and extracurricular involvement. Students must be admitted to BHSU to be awarded scholarships.
This award is available to a high school graduate who has not previously attended a post-secondary institution. The application must be made during the senior year of high school. To be eligible, a student must attain a minimum SAT composite score of 1060, be in the upper 33% of their class rank, and must have been admitted to Black Hills State University. This scholarship will be awarded for four years if the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and takes 30 credit hours per academic year.
