Admissions requirements

All applicants must have Level 3 qualifications, which should include at least one creative subject. The university needs between 112 and 120 UCAS Tariff points, but will always consider applicants who may fall below this tariff band. All relevant and equivalent Level 3 UK and international qualifications are considered on an individual basis, and AUB encourages students from diverse educational backgrounds to apply.

January intake is only for foundation programs. Students can enter the country with a short study visa.


September intake - IELTS 5.5 overall (5.0 in each component). January intake - IELTS 5.0 overall (5.0 in each component).

The standard offers for degree include:

IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma – score of 30 or above. We’ll also consider applications from students who haven’t enrolled in the full IB Diploma Program and have completed independent subject courses/certificates.

Students who have chosen not to enroll in the IB Diploma Program will be expected to achieve three Higher Level subjects at Grade 5 or equivalent. AUB also accepts the European Baccalaureate with a minimum score of 75%.

Fees and funding

Arts University Bournemouth keeps its fees at the lowest possible levels and has a thorough quality assurance procedure to ensure a high standard of teaching and resources for students on all courses.

Foundation - £13,250 / program Undergraduate tuition - £16,950 / year Graduate tuition - £16,950 / program

All full-time Pre-degree and bachelor's students who pay annual fees in full by 1st August receive a 10% tuition fee discount.

All full-time master's students who pay in full by 1st August will be given a 10% discount on their annual tuition fee.

Scholarships for academic achievement (master's only)

All applicants who hold a 2.1 degree or equivalent will be eligible for a Scholarship of 10% off the cost of the course.

Relevant workplace experience

Applicants from a non-degree background or applicants applying with relevant/equivalent work experience will be eligible for a scholarship of 10% of the cost of the program.
