"Fires can happen anytime, anywhere, with devastating outcomes. The Fire Inspection and Fire Safety Education program is the first of its kind in Canada and will provide you with vital training to protect people and properties from catastrophic fires before they start.
In this six semester, three-year advanced diploma program, you'll learn about everything from enforcement to education in your fire inspector training. As the basis for all fire prevention activities, education is key. On your journey to achieving your fire inspector certification, you'll gain an understanding of the growing role of fire prevention within the public and private sectors of the fire service industry in our fire prevention course."
Applicants who are neither Canadian Citizens nor Permanent Resident smust have a valid study permit to register in any College course or program as verified by the Registrar
Diploma programs (two years): TOEFL 79 / IELTS 6.0 / CAEL 60 / PTE 53 / CAE 169 Bachelor programs (four years): TOEFL 85 / IELTS 6.5 Postgraduate certificates (one year): TOEFL 88 / IELTS 6.0
Post-secondary programs (certificates, diplomas,
advanced diplomas) The standard academic admission requirement for undergraduate post-secondary programs is an Ontario secondary school diploma with courses at the General Level, or equivalent.
Unless otherwise indicated, the standard academic admission requirement for Graduate post-Secondary programs is a two or three year College Diploma, or a Degree.
In addition to the Standard Academic Admission Requirement, program eligibility criteria may include one or more of the following:
- An Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate (GED), with a minimum score of 450 in each band, or the equivalent, or other preparation as may be prescribed for mature students
- A specified competence or skill level required for the program
- The completion of any designated preparatory program
Fall Semester (September): application deadline 6-8 months before start of program. Spring Semester (January): application deadline 6-8 months before start of program.
For Aviation programs: application deadline at least one year before start of program.
Fees and funding
Tuition fees are established following the guidelines of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and includes a $500.00 non-refundable deposit.
Fees include the tuition fee, the incidental fee, the student activity fee, the student building fee, two health insurance fees, the technology fee and the athletics fee.
Scholarship opportunities may be available for international students who are currently enrolled and attending Fanshawe College with a valid study permit and international visa.
International Entrance Scholarship
This scholarship is for Latin American students, and has three requirements:
- Good high school performance (75/100)
- English proficiency 1 point above the minimum requirement
- Community service
