"This course has been temporarily suspended for this year, but we welcome applications for September 2021.

The MA in Fine Art enables you to evaluate and develop your creative practice to the highest standards. It develops theoretical awareness, critical thinking and independent arts practice to a professional level."

Admissions requirements

  • Bachelors degrees

    IELTS 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each band (or equivalent), TOEFL iBT 90 overall, CAE Cambridge Assessment English C1 Grade C

  • Masters degrees

    IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in each other band (or equivalent), TOEFL iBT 90 overall,

  • Postgraduate research degrees

    IELTS 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each band (or equivalent)


  • An Equivalent to A levels grades BCC/BBC


  • First or Second class honors degree (or equivalent).

Fees and funding

The UON International Scholarship

  • You must hold an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught program (BA, BSc, BEng, MEng, LLB, Joint Honours, MA, MSc, LLM or MBA).
  • You must have been assessed as an overseas fee payer
  • Average amount

    10% to 30% reduction in fees.

  • You do not have to apply for this scholarship separately from your initial application and you will be informed of the outcome in your offer letter.

UON EU Scholarship 2020

The UON EU Scholarship 2020 is open to applicants from the EU who meet the Eligibility Criteria. UON offers 50 scholarships, each to the value of £3000. Recipients will receive £1,000 per year, paid in two installments, over a maximum of three years.

  • You must hold an offer to study on Year 1 of a full-time undergraduate program (BA, BSc, BEng, MEng, LLB or Joint Honours) in September 2020, and pay a fee of £9,250
  • You must be an EU national and normally reside in an EU country
  • EU nationals who have been resident in the UK for less than five years and do not qualify for a maintenance loan may qualify
  • You must have achieved the equivalent of A-Level grades BBB or above in your high school qualifications

The International Graduate Scholarship

The International Graduate Scholarship offers a 50% fee discount to graduates of the University of Northampton who studied on campus in the UK. This scholarship is available to you if you are wishing to study a Master’s course and have achieved a second class degree from a three or four year Bachelor’s degree or a first-class degree from a one-year Top-Up program. Top Up graduates with a second class degree will be eligible for 30% graduate scholarship.

You do not have to apply for this scholarship separately from your initial application and you will be informed of the outcome in your offer letter.
