Admissions requirements

Specific entry requirements may differ for each program, but the below contains the general requirements and provides some guidance.

English requirements

Undergraduate: TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5)

Postgraduate: TOEFL 90 / IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0)

English programs available for those students who do not meet the English language requirement at the cost of £315 per week.

Entry requirements

International foundation program

Students require a high school diploma with a GPA of 2.75 or above.

Undergraduate programs

You will need to have received a high school diploma with a GPA of 2.75 or above, plus either: – four AP (Advanced Placement Program) courses at grade 3 or above – three AP courses at grade 4 or above – First Year of university or college – Three SAT subject tests at 550 points – 1200 / 1600 in the SATR – ACT (Overall average score 26)

If an application doesn’t quite meet the criteria above, it may be possible to join a fast track program or the International Foundation Program.

Pre-master's program

Students whose qualifications do not meet our general entrance or course requirements may need to take a pre-master's course to qualify for entry to a postgraduate degree program.

Postgraduate Programs

Students need an awarded degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75 from a recognized University.

International baccalaureate conversion

For subjects requiring 128 UCAS tariff points, the overall IB score required is 32. For subjects requiring 120 UCAS tariff points, the overall IB score required is 30. For subjects requiring 112 UCAS tariff points, the overall IB score required is 28. Some degrees may require a grade 5 in specific Higher Level subjects.

Applicants must have been awarded the International Baccalaureate diploma. This means that you have passed all components including the extended essay and theory of knowledge (TOK).

Deciding to study in a foreign country is a big decision, and one of the biggest factors is the financial commitment.

Edge Hill has a competitive range of international scholarships. All full-time, overseas fee paying students will be automatically considered for the award of a scholarship when applying for a program of studies.

Funding

International foundation scholarship

One scholarship worth up to £1,200 towards the tuition fees of the international foundation program will be awarded based on academic merit. Successful students will be notified on their offer letter, with the award being made at the university's discretion.

All students who progress successfully from the international foundation program onto a full undergraduate degree will receive a £3,975 scholarship towards the first year of their undergraduate tuition fees. Successful students will be notified on their offer letter, with the award being made at the university’s discretion.

Undergraduate Development Scholarship

This scholarship is for students starting an Undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree and is worth up to £1,200 towards the first year tuition fees. Successful students will be notified on their offer letter, with the award being made at the university’s discretion.
