"The mission of the Doctor of Arts program in English Pedagogy is to develop master educators within the broad content area of English from elementary through secondary and developmental levels in western Kentucky and other regions. The objectives of the Doctor of Arts program in English Pedagogy are
1) to foster the advanced development of content expertise in English for teaching at the elementary school, middle school, high school, and adult education levels;
2) to provide professional educators with skills in pedagogical research to refine and improve their teaching practice with special regard to teaching diverse populations and differentiating instruction;
3) to provide professional educators with skills to participate in curriculum development and assessment;
4) to provide supportive experiences to teachers who are preparing National Board Certification submissions in English-related areas;
5) to enable professional educators to refine their abilities to facilitate college readiness in English;
6) to provide professional educators with opportunities to develop expertise in the uses of instructional technology in individual classroom settings and in overall curricula."

International Leadership Scholarship

The Murray State University International Leadership Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to applicants who are citizens or permanent residents of countries other than the United States. Applicants must first apply and be admitted to an undergraduate or graduate program at Murray State University, submitting evidence of the ability to pay the remains after the scholarship is awarded. The average amount is $1,000 per year. This scholarship is awarded to international students who demonstrate leadership and passion for advancing intercultural learning.

International Transfer Scholarship

The Transfer Scholarship will be awarded to first-time transfer students who have a 3.25 transferable GPA and 45 or more transferable hours. The Transfer Scholarship is a non-refundable scholarship that can be applied to direct costs (tuition, campus housing, campus meal plan, or University Bookstore textbook charges) at Murray State. The average amount is $1,500 per year

Partner University Scholarships

$2,000 per year Partner University Scholarships are awarded to all admitted undergraduate students from partner universities.
