Program Overview

What Felician University says about their program:
"This program prepares you to create classroom environments that are conducive to the learning needs of those with disabilities. By learning things such as behavioral observation methods, evidence-based practices for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, applied behavioral analysis strategies, and ethics and professional standards, you’ll become equipped with the understanding necessary to help teach and improve the lives of uniquely-abled students.

You will also gain a deep knowledge of current laws and technologies that affect special education and how to design curriculums in inclusive environments. Discover how to help maximize the potential of uniquely-abled learners to create and sustain independence in their lives and make meaningful gains.

This program also satisfies the international Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s (BACB) coursework requirements for becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), so you will have the opportunity to advance your career while helping others. New Jersey happens to have the highest concentration of autistic people in America, so the need for compassionate and caring individuals with the right knowledge and skills to help this population are highly sought after.

You’ll also take an additional 12 credits in either English as a Second Language, Principal Supervision, or Teacher of Students with Disabilities to prepare for an additional state endorsement and further enhance your marketability."
