"The Clinical Mental Health program is designed to prepare professional counselors to provide individual, group, marriage, couple, and family counseling in various settings (e.g., agencies, private practice, etc.). In addition to training students in the foundational areas of counseling (i.e., theories of counseling, foundational counseling skills, professional issues in counseling, etc.), coursework for this program will provide training in advanced counseling skills and supervision, diagnostic techniques and treatment planning, research, addictions, and multicultural counseling."

  • Depending on the program, a minimum GPA of 2.75/3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required
  • GMAT or GRE official scores report (only if these tests are required for the desired graduate program)

  • Kaplan English Certificate Advanced Level (Higher Intermediate Level for full admission with condition)
  • British / Cambridge International Examinations

    GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, AICE, HIGCSE certificate with five O-Level subject passes, or a level of B-2 or higher on the Cambridge English exam.

  • Completion of one semester of full-time university level classes (minimum of 12 credit hours) with a 2.5 GPA or higher at an accredited US institution
  • Graduation from a high school in the United States
  • Students from the following countries are not required to submit English proficiency scores

    Antigua, Australia, Bahamas, Belize, British Islands, Cameroon (University of Buea and University of Bamenda), Canada, Ghana, Ireland, Kenya, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria and United Kingdom.

Funding

International Leadership Scholarships

  • Amount: US$1,000
  • Requirements: Awarded to bachelor's and master's students who demonstrate leadership and passion for advancing inter-cultural learning at Murray State University. Apply for admission first and then complete the separate scholarship application to be considered.

Partner University Scholarships

  • Amount: US$2,000 per year
  • Requirements: Partner University Scholarships are awarded to all admitted undergraduate students from partner universities.

Transfer Scholarships The Transfer Scholarship is a non-refundable scholarship that can be applied to direct costs (tuition, campus housing, campus meal plan, or University Bookstore textbook charges) at Murray State. The Transfer Scholarship is awarded for three years (fall and spring consecutive semesters) or until a bachelor's degree is received, whichever occurs first.

  • Amount: US$4,000 - 3.80 to 4.00 GPA / US$3,000 - 3.50 to 3.79 GPA / US$1,500 - 3.00 to 3.49 GPA
  • Requirements: First-time transfer student, minimum 3.0 GPA, enrolling as a full-time student (minimum of 12 hours per semester at Murray State)
