"If you’ve completed high school with good grades but don’t qualify for entry to an undergraduate degree, you could study an International Year One, which combines university preparation with degree 1st year."

Admissions requirements

We accept a wide range of qualifications and experience at UWE Bristol. Find out more about our entry requirements below.

  • UG IELTS 6.0 (5.5 minimum on each component)

  • PG IELTS 6.5 (5.5 minimum on each component)


You usually need two A-levels or equivalent, such as a BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma; IB (International Baccalaureate); or Access to Higher Education Diploma.


You will need to have a: relevant degree of 2:2 or above;

  • September Semester - deadline January 15 (willing to accept later applications)

  • For programs offered in January - deadline ongoing (making sure students can get their CAS and visas on time) - Last date to issue a CAS letter would be December 20

International Sport Scholarship

If you are a high performing athlete, UWE Bristol offers exceptional opportunities to pursue your sporting ambitions with the International Sport Scholarships. The scholarship offers a 30% tuition fee discount plus a comprehensive performance sport support package.

Recipients of this scholarship will be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of their course.

Following graduation, recipients will also be expected to be an active member of the UWE Bristol Alumni Network by helping the University to promote its programs to prospective students.
