"The Associate in Science in Computer Science for Transfer, also called Computer Science AS-T Degree, is designed to prepare students for a seamless transfer with junior status to a CSU campus in a program or major in Computer Science for completion of a baccalaureate degree.
Major Graduates of the Computer Science AS-T will have the skills in computer programming required for transfer to a four-year college. This degree program prepares students for transfer to four-year colleges for further study in Computer Science, as well as related areas such as Computer Engineering. The curriculum includes instruction in the fundamentals of problem solving and analysis, programming, data structures, and architecture. Additional requirements include Calculus, Physics and Discrete Mathematics. College of the Desert has transfer agreements with many of the California State Universities and University of California campuses.
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
-Solve problems and conduct experiments in basic computer science and physics.
-Solve mathematical problems using discrete math and calculus.
-Create and program algorithmic solutions to solve problems.
