Admissions requirements

TOEFL 79 / IELTS 6.5 / CAE grade B / CPE grade C

  • Diploma of secondary or higher education where English was the language of instruction
  • Completed at least one school year of secondary education where English was the language of instruction
  • Completed program units in higher education with at least 54 ECTS credits where language of instruction was English

Bachelor's programs

When you apply for a Bachelor program you need to have a secondary school credential that grants you access to a Bachelor degree in your home country. Some credentials obtained in the EEA are deemed equivalent to a Flemish degree of secondary education and grant direct access (if you also have a proof of language proficiency) to our Bachelor programs. Master's and advanced master's programs

When you apply for a master program you need to have a bachelor degree (or equivalent). Each program has its own specific requirements. After you submit your application, we will verify your degree and transcripts in order to determine whether you are eligible for the program of your choice. Tuition fees are subsidized by the government, meaning that for most of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) programs are kept as low as €922/year.
