What Midwestern State University says about their program:
"The Biology program prepares students to become self-sufficient, independent thinkers who work heavily in scientific research. Graduates of the Biology program often go on to put their skills to use in a variety of fields. Careers range from teacher to lab technician to scientific-technical writer and from positions in the FBI to positions in Wildlife Parks.
The Biology program at MSU is the optimal environment for learning. The faculty pride themselves on the 2:5 student-to-professor ratio they are able to provide. The student-to-professor ratio results in the faculty being approachable and easily accessed. Furthermore, it allows professors to provide more one-on-one attention to students who are working on their thesis research. The smaller enrollment size of MSU’s Biology program also means that the Graduate and Teaching Assistantships are not as competitive as they may be at schools with larger enrollment numbers."
