What the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria says about their program:
"The competitiveness of future motor vehicle generations will be determined by the performance of their mechatronic systems. The share of the added value of a motor vehicle of its electronic and mechatronic systems is already over 30% and a further rapid increase is forecast. The reasons for the increase in the significance of mechatronic systems are many. The ever-higher requirements, both legal requirements and those of customers, with respect to efficiency, functionality, comfort and safety demand the use of innovative mechatronic technologies. Motor vehicle manufacturers and suppliers must respond to these changes with innovative mechatronic products and systems to defend their market shares. Companies are therefore on the lookout for well-qualified engineers who can combine complex individual components into innovative mechatronic systems with improved and completely new functions whilst at the same time thinking and acting in market-and business economics oriented ways."
At least 6-semester relevant Bachelor’s degree or comparable academic qualification (min. 180 ECTS or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary education institution is required.
There is a Merit Based Scholarship for excellently performing students. It can be awarded to international students to recognise prior achievement and performance during studies. It becomes available only after the first semester, and covers half of the tuition fee.
Many international students will require a visa to study in Austria, and this is a vital step of your study abroad journey. Make sure you understand the requirements you may need to meet before applying.
