Foundation year
All Engineering students begin with a common foundation year, regardless of program of study. During the foundation year you will learn about the various Engineering programs available.


Engineering and Management
There is a need for engineers with management skills. Complement the technical studies of your Engineering program with business and management courses by pursuing the five‑year Bachelor of Engineering and Management (Honours) program.


Women in Engineering
A multi-year support program to help female Engineering students explore opportunities and careers, gain experience in the workforce, make a successful transition to a career in engineering and find lifelong success in a professional engineering career. "

Admissions requirements

  • Cambridge English - Advanced

    Minimum score of 180 with no band lower than 170.

  • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL)

    Minimum score of 70 with no sub-score below 60.

  • Duolingo English Test (DET)*

    Minimum score of 110 (Education and Nursing programs require a total score of 120).

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

    Overall score of 6.5 with no sub-score less than 6.0 (Education and Nursing programs require an overall score of 7.0).

  • Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB)

    Minimum score of 85.

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic

    Minimum score of 58.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

    Internet-based test (iBT) with a total score of 83 (Education and Nursing programs require a total score of 87), and minimum scaled scores of Listening

International applicants must provide proof of:

  • High school graduation (often stated directly on one’s final high school transcript).
  • English proficiency.
  • Having attained the academic subject prerequisites required for the program to which they are applying. These are typically secondary school senior-level courses of sufficient scope and dept

Global Leadership Award

If you are an international secondary-school student entering an undergraduate program at the university on a study permit and are currently studying outside of Canada, you can apply for the university's Global Leadership Award (GLA).

The GLA is one of our most prestigious entrance awards. Valued at $72,000 ($18,000 a year X four years), the GLA recognizes international secondary school applicants with strong academic and leadership abilities.

In Course Scholarships

If you have achieved a minimum 3.7 GPA (on a 4.3 scale) during the previous year and you are returning to full-time study, you will be automatically awarded a scholarship and notified through your student email account.

$2,000 - 4.0+ GPA $1,500 - 3.7 - 3.99 GPA These scholarships may be increased to $3,000 and $4,000 through generous contributions from our donors.

Please note: In-course scholarships are available for up to three years of your first undergraduate degree. To be considered, you must have been enrolled in a minimum of 80 percent course load during your previous academic year.
