Admissions requirements

​​​​​​​​​The freshman program is a majorless year (2 regular terms) whereby the student can take different courses and follow either a scientific track or a track in humanities. Once the student completes the freshman year, he/she gets to enroll in a specific major at the sophomore level based on his/her average or GPA.

Undergraduate fall semester (end of August) - application deadline:

  • Early admissions - October
  • Latest deadline - December 20

Undergraduate spring semester (January) application deadline: October 31.

Postgraduate fall semester (end of August) - application deadline:

  • Early admissions - February 1
  • Latest deadline - April 1

Postgraduate spring semester (January) - application deadline November 1.

Undergraduate: TOEFL 88 / IELTS 5.5 Postgraduate: TOEFL 97 / IELTS 7.0

To apply for regular admissions, the student needs to submit an undergraduate application along with the following documents:

  • SAT1 results
  • High school records during grades 10 and 11
  • Counselor / teacher recommendation
  • Extracurricular Activities / other Achievements

Admission is competitive and based on the above requirements as follows:

  • 50% is based on the SAT1

    (Evidence-based Reading and Writing + Math) sections

  • 50% is based on the student high school averages in grades 10 and 11
  • A consideration of personal qualities and academic motivation, as determined in the completed application and personal statement as well as the recommendations from teachers and school counselor.

Fees and funding

All academically gifted students, regardless of their socio-economic background, should have access to AUB. Please note that your admissions status will not be jeopardized by applying for financial aid. AUB has a strong financial aid program to assist needy students in meeting the cost of their education.

Fees at AUB are assessed on a per-credit basis based on a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester. Students enrolling for more than 15 credit hours may do so at no additional charge. Prospective students should also bear in mind that the cost of their education at AUB typically will include additional expenses such as student housing, food expenses, medical insurance and social security fees.
