Admissions requirements

Applicants to GU undergraduate programs who require non-immigrant, student visas will be assessed to ensure that they meet the requirements for academics, English language proficiency, and have the financial resources required.

Undergraduate: TOEFL 79 / IELTS 6.5

ACT 18 OR SAT 860 (math + critical reading) can be presented as proof of English proficiency. If students have completed high school where medium of instruction is English, requirement can also be waived

Postgraduate: IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 79

If students do not meet the required English standard through TOEFL / IELTS, they will go through the pathway program.

To be considered for a place at Greenville, students must do the following:

  • Complete online application
  • Meet English proficiency requirement
  • Submit official academic transcripts / records (high school GPA 2.25 / 4.0)
  • Submit financial documents
  • Submit biological passport page

Fall semester (August): deadline July 15.

Spring semester (January): deadline December 1.

Intensive English language program (pathway): August - October - January - March - Summer (May-July)

Fees and funding

At Greenville University, most students receive financial assistance. For international students, the scholarship range is from $5,000 to $25,000. The International Affairs Office works to provide individualized scholarships and awards for international students. Federal and State assistance does not apply. Students have the opportunity to work on-campus jobs up to 20 hours a week per their visa requirements.
